Sahara el Beyda

White desert or we could say space desert since it gives us the feeling that we are on the moon or on a foreign planet. 40 000 years ago this area was part of Mediterranean sea and under its surface was also one third of today’s Africa. The bottom was overgrown with countless coral reefs which today evolved into snow white limestone. Thousands of years sea tides and waves were carving them in stunning shapes. The whole plato is peppered with shapes of mushrooms, rabbit, chicken and so many more imagination forms. In between the wind has blown dunes of yellow Sahara’s sand. White desert is part of Western desert but only this exceptional creation of nature is under protection of Unesco. White rocks and yellow sand are great contrast that is shining in the sun and at the sunset everything changes to all shades of red. Shadows are becoming longer and longer and the first stars are waking up on the dusky blue sky. Rocky sculptures transforms into black guards and millions of stars move closer to Earth. And while you was watching all of that the desert fox is stealing your shoes.
